Three Programmes, One Approach

Each programme is reading-led, small-cohort, and built around publicly available Singapore financial documentation. Here is everything you need to decide which suits you.

Our Method

How Every Programme Works

All three Mavorin programmes follow the same structural logic: reading material is distributed in advance, the cohort meets to discuss it, and printed reference materials support the learning between sessions.

The facilitator's role is not to present a lecture but to open the reading โ€” to identify the passages worth slowing down for, to surface the vocabulary that trips readers up, and to make space for the group's own questions. The session ends when the discussion is exhausted, not when a slide deck runs out.

No financial product is discussed, named, compared, or recommended in any session. The boundary is firm and observed in practice, not just in principle.

Reading Arrives First

Material is posted or emailed 5โ€“7 days before each session.

Discussion in the Room

Sessions focus on understanding the text, not on financial decisions.

Printed Materials to Keep

Reference binders and glossary cards accompany every programme.

Cohort Newsletter

A summary newsletter reaches participants after each session.

Pension Landscape Reading Programme
4-Week Programme ยท Cohort of 12

Pension Landscape Reading Programme

A four-week programme that walks participants through the structure of Singapore's national pension landscape โ€” the components of CPF Life, the structure of public payouts across age bands, and the standard vocabulary used in scheme documentation. The programme is reading-led: a chapter of public scheme documentation is sent in advance of each session, and the cohort meets weekly in a small group of twelve to discuss the reading.

Purely educational; no advice or product recommendations are offered. Materials include a printed reference binder, weekly glossary cards, and a private cohort summary newsletter.

What Participants Gain

  • Confidence reading CPF Life payout documentation
  • Familiarity with the vocabulary of age-band payout structures
  • A reference binder to use independently after the programme
  • Comfort asking questions in a small, knowledgeable group

Session Structure

  1. 1CPF Life โ€” scheme overview and eligibility vocabulary
  2. 2Payout structures and age-band language in public documents
  3. 3Annual statements โ€” reading and cross-referencing
  4. 4Open reading session โ€” participant-selected passages and questions

Weekend Workshop ยท Cohort of 14

Insurance Vocabulary Reading Workshop

A weekend reading workshop for adults aged 40 and above who want a clear, plain-language introduction to the vocabulary used in personal insurance documentation โ€” policy terms, exclusion language, riders, and the standard structure of an annual statement. The workshop is reading-led: participants work through publicly available sample documents under guidance, focusing on language and structure rather than product selection.

No product recommendations are offered. Includes a printed vocabulary booklet, a sample-document reader, and access to a small reflection circle. Cohort size capped at fourteen.

What Participants Gain

  • Ability to read insurance policy terms without assistance
  • Understanding of exclusion language and rider structures
  • A printed vocabulary booklet and sample-document reader to keep
  • Access to a reflection circle for post-workshop questions

Weekend Schedule

  1. 1Saturday morning: Policy structure and standard terminology
  2. 2Saturday afternoon: Exclusion language and riders in sample documents
  3. 3Sunday morning: Annual statement structure and cross-referencing
  4. 4Sunday afternoon: Open reading and reflection circle

Insurance Vocabulary Reading Workshop
Late-Career Finance Reading Circle
6-Month Circle ยท Cohort of 8 ยท Ages 50โ€“62

Late-Career Finance Reading Circle

A six-month reading circle for adults aged 50 to 62 who are entering the later stage of their working life and want to read more widely about the vocabulary of late-career household finance. Each month covers a single topic โ€” cashflow reshaping, the SRS framework, household coordination, document organisation, intergenerational discussion, and the language of charitable giving.

The circle meets monthly on a Saturday morning in a small group of eight. Sessions consist of guided discussion of pre-distributed reading material. Educational in nature; not advisory.

Six-Month Reading Plan

  1. 1Month 1 โ€” Cashflow reshaping vocabulary
  2. 2Month 2 โ€” The SRS framework and its documentation
  3. 3Month 3 โ€” Household coordination and shared financial vocabulary
  4. 4Month 4 โ€” Document organisation and record-keeping language
  5. 5Month 5 โ€” Intergenerational discussion vocabulary

Protocols

Standards Across All Programmes

Privacy in the Room

Personal financial circumstances are never solicited in sessions. All cohort membership details are held under Singapore's PDPA and not shared with third parties.

No Product Promotion

No financial product is named, compared, or promoted in any session โ€” including insurance policies, investment products, and bank offerings. This boundary is maintained without exception.

Public Document Sources Only

All reading material is sourced from publicly available Singapore government and regulatory publications. No proprietary or commercially produced content is used.

Materials Updated Regularly

Reading selections and glossary definitions are reviewed against current scheme documentation before each new cohort runs. Outdated language is removed or annotated.

Experienced Facilitation

Each programme is facilitated by a team member with direct background in the relevant scheme area โ€” not a generalist educator working from secondary sources.

Post-Programme Access

Questions that arise after a programme ends can be sent to the Mavorin team. We respond in writing within five working days, within the limits of our educational scope.

Send an Enquiry โ€” No Obligation

Tell us which programme interests you and ask anything you need to know. We will respond with current cohort dates and available places.
