Why Mavorin

What Makes Our Approach Different

Reading-Led Structure

Every session begins with a chapter or document sent in advance. Participants arrive having read, not just having listened. This creates richer, more focused discussion.

Small Cohorts Only

Groups of eight to fourteen. Names are known. Questions are welcomed. No one sits in a lecture hall wondering if their question is worth asking.

Purely Educational

No financial products. No advice. No recommendations. We work only with publicly available documents and standard vocabulary. The learning stays with you.

Singapore-Grounded

All materials draw on Singapore-specific scheme documentation — CPF Life, SRS, public insurance frameworks. Nothing generic, nothing imported from elsewhere.

Considered Pace

Weekly or monthly sessions allow time for reflection between readings. Understanding settles more deeply when it isn't rushed.

Printed Materials Included

Reference binders, glossary cards, and vocabulary booklets are prepared for each cohort. Something to keep, mark up, and return to at your own pace.

Would a Reading Circle Suit You?

If you are 40 or older and would like to read more confidently about Singapore's pension and insurance landscape, we would be glad to tell you more about how our cohorts work. No commitment needed — just a conversation.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Who are these programmes designed for?
Our programmes are designed for Singapore adults aged 40 and above who want to read more clearly about the financial vocabulary relevant to their stage of life. The Late-Career Finance Reading Circle is specifically shaped for those aged 50 to 62. No prior financial knowledge is required — or assumed.
Is this financial advice?
No. Our programmes are purely educational. We work with publicly available documents and help participants understand vocabulary, structure, and language. We do not make product recommendations, discuss personal financial positions, or act in any advisory capacity. If you need regulated financial advice, we encourage you to seek a qualified adviser.
Where do sessions take place?
Sessions are held at our reading room at 16 Raffles Quay, #29-02, Hong Leong Building, Singapore 048581. The location is accessible from Raffles Place MRT station. Parking is available at the building.
How large are the cohorts?
We keep cohorts deliberately small. The Pension Landscape programme runs in groups of twelve. The Insurance Vocabulary workshop is capped at fourteen. The Late-Career Finance Reading Circle meets in groups of eight. Smaller numbers allow more considered conversation.
What materials are provided?
Each programme includes printed materials — reference binders, glossary cards, or vocabulary booklets depending on the programme. The Insurance Vocabulary workshop also includes a sample-document reader. Reading materials for each session are distributed in advance by post or email.
What does the fee cover?
The fee covers all session attendance, printed materials, and any cohort newsletters or updates for the duration of the programme. Payment is collected before the cohort's first session. Please contact us to ask about instalment arrangements for the six-month circle.
How do I join a cohort?
Use the enquiry form below, or reach us directly by phone or email. We will share the next available cohort dates and, if places remain, send you an enrolment form. There is no obligation at the enquiry stage.
